Getting Started - Agencies & Sales Teams
Real-world ICP examples and a complete discovery-to-outreach workflow for agencies and sales teams using StoreCensus.
StoreCensus gives agencies and sales teams the data signals to build hyper-targeted prospect lists based on real store behavior - not just firmographics. This guide walks through four real-world ICP examples and a complete workflow from discovery to outreach.
ICP Example A - High-Intent Stores with Ad Spend
Profile: Stores actively spending on paid social (Meta/Facebook Pixel installed) with meaningful revenue - these stores have budget and are growth-oriented.
Filters to apply:
- Apps → search "Facebook Pixel" or "Meta Pixel" → select it.
- Monthly Revenue → set minimum to $20,000.
- Country → United States (or your target market).
- Platform → Shopify.
Why this works: A store running Meta Pixel with $20k+/mo revenue is actively investing in growth. They have budget for tools and services, and they're sophisticated enough to be running paid acquisition.
Outreach angle: "We help Shopify stores scaling with Meta ads to [your service]. We noticed you're running strong monthly revenue - here's how we've helped similar stores..."
ICP Example B - Fast-Growing Stores Missing Email Marketing
Profile: Stores with strong revenue but no dedicated email marketing platform - a clear gap you can fill.
Filters to apply:
- Monthly Revenue → minimum $15,000.
- Apps → select Klaviyo, Omnisend, Drip, Mailchimp → set each to No in the Yes/No dropdown (store must NOT have these apps).
- Platform → Shopify.
- Website Created At → set to before 6 months ago to target established stores.
Why this works: A store doing $15k+/mo without a proper email platform is leaving significant revenue on the table. This is a warm pitch - you're solving an obvious problem.
Outreach angle: "We noticed [store name] is doing well on Shopify but isn't using a dedicated email marketing platform. Stores at your revenue level typically see 20–30% of revenue from email..."
ICP Example C - High-Revenue Stores with Outdated Themes
Profile: Stores with strong revenue running older or less-optimized themes - prime candidates for a redesign or CRO engagement.
Filters to apply:
- Monthly Revenue → minimum $30,000.
- Theme → select older/free themes (e.g., "Dawn", "Debut", "Brooklyn", "Simple").
- Platform → Shopify.
- Country → your target market.
Why this works: A high-revenue store on a basic free theme has likely outgrown it. They have the budget for a redesign and a clear business case (conversion rate improvement).
Outreach angle: "Your store is doing impressive volume on Shopify. Stores at your scale typically see 15–25% conversion lift after moving to a custom theme optimized for their catalog size..."
ICP Example D - Underserved Stores in a Specific Vertical
Profile: Stores in a specific product vertical missing key tools for that vertical.
Filters to apply:
- Vertical → select your target vertical (e.g., "Health & Beauty", "Fashion & Apparel").
- Monthly Revenue → $10,000–$100,000 (mid-market sweet spot).
- Apps → add vertical-specific apps they should have but don't → set each to No in the Yes/No dropdown.
- Country → your target market.
Why this works: Vertical-specific outreach converts better because you can speak directly to their industry pain points.
Agency Workflow - From Discovery to Outreach
Step 1: Build Your Filter Combination
Apply the filters for your ICP as described above. The result count shows in the data grid header.
Step 2: Save the Search
Click the Save icon (bookmark) in the filter panel header to save this filter combination as a named Saved Search. You can reload it anytime without re-applying filters manually.
Step 3: Export or Push to Outreach
- Click Export in the data grid toolbar to download a CSV with all store data, contact emails, and decision makers.
- Or use Automations to continuously push new stores matching your ICP into your Instantly/Smartlead/Apollo campaigns automatically.
Step 4: Organize with Lists and CRM
- Create a List for each client or campaign (e.g., "Client A - Meta Ads ICP", "Client B - Email Gap").
- As you qualify stores, add them to the appropriate list.
- Use CRM Status to track outreach progress: Contacted → Replied → Negotiating → Closed.
- Use Star Ratings (1–5) to prioritize your best leads.
- Add Notes to each store to log call summaries, objections, or next steps.
Step 5: Set Up Evergreen Flows for Ongoing Lead Gen
Once you've found a filter combination that works, set up an Evergreen Flow to automatically add new stores matching that ICP to your pipeline as they appear in the database.
