北马沈氏宗祠创立于上世纪三十年代，至今已有八十余年的悠久历史。当年先贤不辞劳苦飘洋过海到槟城落地生根，胼手胝足且辛勤地奋斗。由于沈氏族亲散居各地，为了联系宗谊团结血缘宗亲，照顾宗亲的权益与福利，促成早期宗祠的成立。 出x早期50年代宗祠会所建立与 都丁宜，因为大部分的宗亲聚居与该处。除此之外，威北地区，如北海，打西汝格，武吉丁雅亦有沈氏族亲居住，然多属散漫组织。 当年的宗祠会所非常简陋，主要是供宗亲亲行典祭祀，追思祖思和发扬慎终追远之精神。为整合与促进团结，沈氏先贤成池，开源，清楚，水荣，高标，亚遥，照星，永城，照鸽，贵德，云生，振幅，书城，明桔，照情，文昌，赛亮，赛明，木德等宗亲，逐发动购置三星巷会所，由1963年将 都丁宜祠堂迁移至三星巷。本宗祠每年农历七月二十五日举办武德候祖圣诞庆典，籍此机会让宗亲们参与并促进联谊。
