my work is a fascinating mix of fashion, visual art and textiles. i mainly focus on handmade illustrations and pattern designs that give a unique touch to various products and surfaces. with my brush, oil paint and watercolors i create colorful and dazzling works of art that brighten up the everyday environment. my love for classical painting has led me to study the techniques of the old masters. this adventure took me to leading dutch artists such as cornelis le mair and sam drukker, and to florence, where i took courses at the angel academy of art and the florence academy of art. since 2009 i have been sharing my knowledge and passion by giving painting and drawing lessons. my work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and i am a proud “arc living artist” at the art renewal center in new york. my painting “the tree frog” even became a finalist in the salon competition . in 2017 i published my first book, “the dutch school – drawing & painting lessons”, followed by the english version “the dutch school – painting & drawing lessons” in 2019.
