Yoast SEO ‑ Store optimization

Delighted with this app, I don't understand the bad reviews. I have been a user of Yoast SEO on WordPress for years and was waiting for it to be on Shopify. Now I can finally optimise the content as I always have, as SEO Yoast tells you in each article, page or product what elements you need to add to improve SEO. It has more options than the free version of WordPress (which was already more than enough for SEO work). As it should. I would like to add that it does not allow you to analyse the SEO of secondary languages, but this is not Yoast SEO's fault. Shopify doesn't have multi-language as well implemented as WordPress. But I was able to translate the homepage meta-data with Langify. Everything else is well translated with Langify. All in all, I'm happy and I still have a lot of optimisation work ahead of me, as the SEO app I had before in Shopify didn't give me (by far) the amount of guidelines that Yoast SEO does. By the way, the technical support is very attentive, and they solved some small doubts I had. They have only been with Shopify for a short time but it's clear that they're keen to keep improving. 5 stars. Show more

Love the app! Used Yoast SEO on wordpress...so glad they came over to Shopify. Not sure what the negative reviews are about...we are loving it already. Makes SEO so much easier...just follow the instructions carefully during setup. Shopify makes things a little more tricky for SEO stuff, but this app is awesome as long as you follow the steps. Not Happy with this app at all and the cost just doesnt justify anything. I already am familar with SEO and thought this might help improve but instead of helpding boost SEO, it rather deranked my site position on google. It has nothing but just a bunch of knowledge book regarding SEO- which are freely available but they make it a point to charge free content. Seriously this is not worth the cost and they should just get out of shopify and stick with wordpress, it does more harm than good. Show more

Please do not completely judge Yoast by the reviews below. I feel they are a little misinformed as the issues mentioned could have been fixed by duplicating and downloading code etc. and Yoast does have an easy button to remove theme modifications in one click. I have used Yoast with Wordpress previously and am so happy there is now a Shopify integration! I have contacted the support team about six times during set up and they have been nothing but friendly, professional and have seriously gone out of their way to help me. I honestly feel the fee is worth the price with the free educational tools which are available and the fantastic support from the customer service team. I already feel my site has improved due to this app and it confirms the SEO changes I am making are effective. Finally, it’s important to realise nothing is perfect when starting out, but it’s how you deal with the problems that makes the difference. The Yoast team have already started fixing an initial bug that was mentioned and I feel the speed of getting it sorted is excellent. A much awaited app that - sadly - overwrites ALL your manual SEO work automatically without leaving you any manual control. You can't leverage your hand-written efforts (title/metadescription), because the app override everything with its structure. You don't even get questions on what to overwrite and when, it just "handles" it. Probably good if you have no manual SEO efforts, but pointless if you want to automate some and have a hands on approach on some. The other benefits of the app was not tested (schema etc) simply because the app was deleted instantly when realizing there are no manual control (or even a warning the automation overwrite everything). Only upside is that you can revert all automation with a button and luckily, get your manual work back. Show more
