★☆☆☆☆ Full of leftover code – causes serious issues even after uninstall I installed Yoast because of their name recognition, but it turned out to be one of the most frustrating decisions I’ve made on Shopify. After following their recommended uninstall process exactly (including contacting support first), I was shocked to discover that the app left behind multiple metafields and traces in my theme, which broke both my structured data and my sitemap indexing in Google Search Console. Even worse: The sitemap stopped working properly after uninstall Metafields labeled "Yoast SEO: Temporary definition" remained on every product Their cleanup tool did not remove them Shopify support confirmed this is a known issue among developers, and yet Yoast has taken no steps to properly fix it Yoast claims they don’t modify your sitemap or theme, but the reality tells a different story. If you care about SEO, do not install this app unless you're ready to spend hours fixing the mess it leaves behind. I expect much better from a company with Yoast’s reputation — and they should be warning users about these risks clearly upfront. First of all, this is a helpful app for SEO. Second, its customer service is fast and helpful. However, sometimes this app feels outdated. It offers AI features for SEO titles, meta descriptions, social titles, and social descriptions. But, strangely for 2025, these features are limited. If you work with large catalogs, the system will block this function after while which is annoying. This needs an immediate fix. It feels like working online in 2010, not 2025. The app also checks your product descriptions for many SEO issues you might not even consider, which is great. I wonder why this app, already using AI, cannot rewrite product titles and descriptions for best SEO practice. This would not be a huge leap. Many AI tools on the market already offer this functionality. So, my dear Yoast Tech Team, I would be happy if you could improve your app in this way. This could truly be a game changer. It could make your app a real SEO weapon.
