CM Commerce: Email Marketing

I got this to replace Mailchimp since their integration with Shopify is ending. I really like the wide variety of pre-made templates for follow ups with customers, and after a month I've already seen a few conversions from them. It's relatively interface friendly, as someone not super tech savvy it's been pretty straight forward to build emails. I am a bit bummed about the monthly price, as I was on a free plan with Mailchimp and being such a small company, I don't need to send excessive amounts of emails, but hopefully over time it will prove to be worth the price. I will say there are a few features that have been difficult for me to implement on my own, even with the Conversio instructions. I had to get their help to verify my domain to intergrate my email marketing customer list from Shopify. I also reached out for help with adding code/widget to show reviews left through Conversio follow up emails, but they wouldn't help me without charging me a fee. I feel if I am paying a monthly fee, it should include help with these available features if their provided instructions are not enough for me to complete on my own. I’ve been using Conversio since it was Receiptful, and it’s done nothing but get better and better. Unlike some other email service providers I’ve tried, the integration with Shopify is seamless. Everything from coupon creation to suggested products just plain works. All of the customer-contact options are there, from the receipt to abandoned carts to follow-ups to review requests. Integrating the reviews and suggested products widgets with your theme makes it that much better. I’ve recently upgraded my rewards account with Smile.io in order to integrate it with my emails, as well, and it’s perfection. The upgrade to use it as a newsletter service is worth it. The construction of newsletters is easy and looks great, and segmentation and scheduling are easy to wrap your head around. Add to all that the super thorough analytics, and the CEO/Founder’s regular educational video and blog content, and this is an incredibly worthwhile application. I’ve done a lot of experimenting over the years with several apps and processes, and I’m actually excited to build this final version of my site with Conversio being a key cog in the machine. The only feature I’ve decided to not use with my theme is the search widget. It might work for some, but the themes I’ve tried have had search features that are integrated so well it doesn’t make a lot of sense to switch. But that takes away absolutely zero stars, since it’s sort of a bonus take-it-or-leave it feature. And the only feature I’d really really like to see is some sort of “Auto Update Your Customers With Blog Entry Content” feature. There is an RSS block, but it’s pretty limited. I have mixed feelings about Shopify’s core blog feature (coming from a WordPress background), but if Conversio could integrate with that so that customers can get blog updates in their email, the way Jetpack does with WordPress, I’d never want for anything else, to be honest. That’s the longest, most glowing review I’ve ever left on an app. Conversio is worth it, and it just keeps getting better. Do the thing. Show more

Learning curve is a little steep, but customer service is there to help. Visually this just never compared to mailchimp (can't outline my buttons, etc. little visual things) so I continued using mailchimp for newsletters. Show more
