How StoreCensus was born from the struggle every Shopify app founder knows too well

In 2023, our team launched our first Shopify app with high hopes and ambitious growth targets. Like many founders, we believed that building a great product was the hard part— surely merchants would discover and love our solution if we just got it in front of them.

The reality hit hard. Despite having built what we believed was a valuable tool, we struggled to reach the right audience. We burned through thousands of dollars on:

  • Generic LinkedIn outreach with dismal response rates
